The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has issued a stern warning to President Bola Tinubu’s administration against using violence on Nigerians during the upcoming 10-day #EndBadGovernance protest, set to begin on Thursday.

In a press statement released on Wednesday, the group’s mobilization director, Damilare Adenola, emphasized that any harm to protesters will have severe repercussions for the presidency.

“We, the Take It Back Movement, issue a final warning to your administration: do not dare attempt to silence our voices with bullets or any weapon because it cannot,” the statement read. “The blood of our brothers and sisters will not be shed in vain, you have our assurance.”

Take-It-Back Movement Warns President Tinubu: 'Do Not Harm Protesters or Face Consequences'

The group recalled the tragic events of 2020, when peaceful #EndSARS protesters were attacked at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos, implying that President Tinubu, who was then involved in governance, would not evade accountability as former President Buhari did.

“Let us be clear: Buhari may have temporarily escaped the consequences of his actions, but you will not, President Tinubu,” TIB stated. “Your presidency hangs by a thread. The people will not be intimidated, and we will not be silenced. If you give the order to shoot, if you allow one protester to be harmed – by the Nigerian security forces or their affiliate non-state actors – your time in office will come to an abrupt end.”

The TIB emphasized their mission as a generation seeking a revolution and change in Nigeria, stating, “We are not just protesters, we are the generation seeking a new order, a revolution. We are the change that Nigeria needs. And we will not be stopped.”

Addressing the security agencies, TIB urged them to refuse unlawful orders and stand with the people rather than against them. The group also called on all Nigerians to join the protest and fight for a better future.

“To the Nigerian people, we say: rise up! Join us in this fight for our future. Together, we can bring down the walls of oppression and build a new Nigeria.”

Concluding the statement, TIB directed a final message to President Tinubu: “President Tinubu, the choice is yours. Choose wisely.”
