The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has confirmed that security operatives killed protesters in the Suleja area of Niger State. Despite initial police denials, the Chairman of the NBA’s Suleja branch, Abdullahi Liman, verified the deaths during a visit to the residence of one of the deceased, Yahaya Nda Isah, on Thursday.

Liman explained that, under the directive of the NBA’s national president, he was tasked with investigating the reports of police violence against protesters. Upon visiting Yahaya Nda Isah’s home, he confirmed the death, stating, “I have seen the corpse.”
The NBA has instructed its branches to form monitoring committees to oversee the ongoing protests. Liman emphasized that they are gathering credible information to report back to the national level for further action.
The confirmation comes after earlier reports indicated that some protesters were killed by police in Suleja, though the police initially failed to acknowledge the incident.
