The Kano State Police Command has successfully recovered looted property and made several arrests following violent incidents that occurred during the nationwide #EndBadGovernance protests in the state.
Around 10:00 AM today, groups of hoodlums, masquerading as protesters, launched a series of coordinated attacks on various establishments in Kano State. These criminal activities have severely disrupted public order and endangered the safety of residents.
Key Incidents:
- Supermarket Attacks: Several supermarkets in the Nassarawa Quarters were attacked, leading to significant property damage and theft.
- Arson at NCC Office: Multiple vehicles parked at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) office within the Audu Bako Secretariat, near the Government House Kano, were set on fire. The blaze was brought under control through the prompt response of emergency services.
Law Enforcement Response:
- Arrests: A total of 157 suspects have been apprehended in connection with the attacks and looting.
- Recovered Items: Police recovered an AK-47 rifle at the High Court, alongside a large quantity of looted goods seized from the suspects.
